Practical tips
Cross at Al Wajajah border (open 24h). Oman visa is free on arrival for most nationalities. Get Oman car insurance at the border (AED 50–80). Fuel is significantly cheaper in Oman.

Practical tips
UAE residents enter visa-free (30 days). Doha's metro is excellent — buy a Saqr card at the airport. The Corniche is a 7km waterfront walk. Book ahead for major events (Formula 1 support races, concerts).

Bahrain has the most socially open atmosphere in the GCC. Restaurants operate freely, the entertainment scene is vibrant, and the UNESCO-listed Bahrain Fort is one of the oldest archaeological sites in the Gulf. The Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix is in March — one of the GCC's biggest events. Hotel rates outside of F1 are significantly below Dubai equivalents for equivalent quality.

Practical tips
UAE residents enter visa-free via King Fahd Causeway or at the airport. Driving from Abu Dhabi is very straightforward. Al Dar Islands (boat trip) and Amwaj Islands are worth adding to the itinerary.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi is a genuine world-class museum; the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is more impressive than anything in Dubai; Saadiyat Island's beach resorts offer a completely different pace; and Yas Island's attractions — Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld, the F1 circuit — are world-class. Hotel rates are typically 15–25% below Dubai equivalents for the same brand tier.

Practical tips
Go on a Friday morning to beat E11 traffic. The Grand Mosque is best at golden hour. Saadiyat Beach Club is excellent for a day pass. Careem operates well in Abu Dhabi — no need to rent a car for a city-centre stay.

Apply for the Saudi e-visa at least 48h before travel. Dress modestly (shoulders and knees covered). Prayer times cause short closures — plan around them. Uber and Careem operate throughout Riyadh. Currency is SAR; UAE cards work at all ATMs.
